Home/Profiler for macOS
macOS edition
Profile, test and grade Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, with results saved to Retsu™ Portal.
The macOS edition
Retsu™ Profiler for macOS brings hardware profiling, diagnostics, cosmetic grading and Portal reporting into one application for ITAD businesses, refurbishers and repair teams. Native builds support Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, with an optional host workflow for connected devices.
From CPU and GPU workloads to the ports your customer will use every day, keep component checks in one application. Live charts show CPU, GPU, memory, battery and storage testing as it happens. Expand a test below to see what it covers.
Verified multicore workloads, live charts and error tracking. Choose 5-minute, 30-minute or 8-hour runs, with temperature and frequency readings where available.
Native Metal and WebGL 1 and 2 checks covering rendering, graphics memory and sustained workloads, with adapter selection and configurable settings.
Five pattern families check memory with adjustable allocation, passes and chunk sizes. Follow live progress and detect mismatches.
Review available SMART, NVMe and ATA health data. Optional verified temporary-file read/write tests show transfer charts, verified bytes and errors.
Standard and Stress discharge tests with adjustable duration and failure thresholds, live charge and discharge-rate charts, and a low-battery reserve.
Thirteen full-screen patterns for pixels, colour, gradients, sharpness and lighting uniformity. Mark defects and review their positions on a defect map.
Visual ANSI, ISO and JIS layouts track key presses and releases, including modifiers and function keys. Automatically passes when all required keys respond.
Full-screen movement and left- and right-click checks across five positions, with automatic completion once the checks are passed.
Separate left- and right-channel sweeps from 100 Hz to 16 kHz, with output selection, replay and adjustable test level.
Select an input, watch its live level, then record and play back audio to assess clarity, distortion and dropouts.
Camera selection, live preview and automatic face detection, plus a countdown and optional photo capture for the report.
Validate the wireless connection and measure download speed, upload speed and latency through the selected Wi-Fi interface.
Validate the wired connection and measure download and upload speeds. Missing connections time out so the workflow can continue.
Check supported Bluetooth Low Energy and Classic accessories, including connection, service validation and compatible stereo audio devices.
Check individual physical ports with position labels, insertion and removal checks, stable-connection detection and negotiated connection-speed reporting.
These are Mac hardware tests. Available checks and readings depend on the device, macOS and granted permissions. Tests that do not apply to the current Mac are disabled.
Less manual entry. A consistent inspection.
Capture model, serial number, chip, memory, displays, graphics, storage, battery and peripherals automatically. Refresh the inventory after changing connected hardware, with available macOS version and update information in view.
One-click Test All runs automated checks first, then sounds an alert when an interactive test needs attention. A compact progress window tracks the sequence. Stop one test and continue, or stop the whole run.
Grade Casing, Display and Keyboard as applicable using NEW, A, B, C or D. Standard and Strict policies calculate the final cosmetic grade, with notes for each area and the overall condition kept alongside functional results.
When a connected target needs recovery, restore supported Macs, iPhones and iPads through Apple Configurator. Review the reported progress and keep the outcome in the target’s own report. Explore the connected-device workflow.
Submit specifications, test outcomes, grades and notes to Portal. Load a previous report or start fresh, with clear pass, fail, inconclusive, stopped and unavailable states and completion indicators for testing and grading.
See capacity health separately from charge percentage, with cycle count, full-charge capacity, design capacity and condition where available. Use Standard or Stress discharge testing to match your inspection procedure.
Refreshable, timestamped findings help technicians review security and ownership information before the next handoff.
Review Activation Lock status where macOS exposes it, with current-user iCloud sign-in shown separately.
Inspect local management and automated-enrolment information. Optional warranty, AppleCare and organisation-specific ABM release information is available when the required service is configured.
Review FileVault and volume-lock status, boot-security policy and System Integrity Protection findings.
Retsu™ reports available findings. It does not remove Activation Lock or prove release from every organisation’s management system.
Add an optional host workflow when your workshop needs to profile connected Macs or recover supported Apple devices. Keep each target’s identity, results and restore outcome in its own record.
Pair over the workshop network with a temporary ticket and confirmation code. Collect the Mac’s full profile, start tests, edit notes and grading, then submit its separate report.
Discover supported Macs in DFU and iPhones or iPads in Recovery or DFU. Submit available identity details before restoration, follow live reported stages and submit the target’s restore outcome. Revive is also available for supported Macs.
iPhone and iPad support: Identification, restoration and restore reporting. The 15 hardware diagnostics are Mac tests. Connected restoration requires supported hardware and Apple Configurator.
Restore evidence is submitted to Retsu™ Portal for reporting and eligible certificate workflows. The app does not itself establish standards certification.
Specifications, test results, cosmetic grading and notes go straight into your Portal workflow, with technician attribution and automatic session-duration tracking.
Adding basic identity or restore evidence preserves existing specifications and test results. Encrypted operation history keeps completed and disconnected targets available for review.
Sign up for Retsu™, then download the Intel or Apple Silicon (ARM) version from Portal. Run it from local storage, USB media or a suitable network share.
Download the Intel or Apple Silicon (ARM) version for the device you will run it on.
Portable setup. Remember licensing in an encrypted setup file. Import and export your setup, with optional saved workshop Wi-Fi settings and automatic connection to supported Personal networks.
Your inspection procedure. Start from Portal account defaults, then adjust individual test workloads. Export the fuller collected profile manually and use built-in documentation and support-report tools.
Ready for handover. The guided Reset Mac workflow offers submission first, followed by Apple’s Erase Assistant or Recovery instructions. Safely eject external drives while protecting the startup disk and the drive running Retsu™.
Clear answers to common product questions.
It is Mac hardware profiling and diagnostics software for ITAD businesses, refurbishers and repair teams. It combines automatic inventory, 15 Mac hardware tests, cosmetic grading, security checks and direct reporting to Retsu™ Portal. An optional connected-device workflow supports Mac profiling and restoration of supported Apple devices.
Yes. Native Intel and Apple Silicon (ARM) builds are available to download from Portal after signup. Hardware readings and available tests depend on the Mac, the information macOS exposes and the permissions granted. Choose the build for your Mac’s processor in Portal.
The 15 tests cover CPU, graphics/GPU, memory/RAM, storage/disk, battery, display/monitor, keyboard, trackpad, speaker/audio, microphone, camera/webcam, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and USB ports. Tests adapt to the device, so a check that does not apply is unavailable rather than treated as a failure.
Yes. View capacity health separately from charge percentage, alongside cycle count, full-charge capacity, design capacity and condition where available. Standard and Stress discharge tests add live charts and configurable thresholds to help your team assess the battery under load.
Yes. Pair a running Mac over the workshop network using a temporary pairing ticket and confirmation code. From the host, collect its full profile, start tests, edit notes and cosmetic grading, and submit a separate report for that target Mac.
The 15 hardware diagnostics are Mac tests. Connected iPhone and iPad support covers identification, restoration and restore reporting through Apple Configurator on supported devices. Each target has its own report; iPhones are recorded as Smartphone and iPads as Tablet.
It discovers supported Macs in DFU mode and iPhones or iPads in Recovery or DFU, records available identity information and restores supported targets through Apple Configurator with live reported progress. It can also revive supported Macs. A basic identity report can be submitted without installing Retsu™ on a DFU or Recovery target, and restore outcomes are submitted as separate target-device reports.
No. It reports Activation Lock status where macOS exposes it, current-user iCloud sign-in, local management and automated-enrolment information, FileVault and boot-security findings. Optional warranty, AppleCare and organisation-specific ABM release information require configured services. These checks do not remove Activation Lock or prove release from every organisation’s management system.
Restore evidence is submitted to Retsu™ Portal for reporting and eligible certificate workflows. The macOS app does not itself establish standards certification. Connected restoration depends on supported hardware and Apple Configurator; the guided Reset Mac workflow offers Apple’s Erase Assistant or Recovery instructions.
Specifications, test results, cosmetic grading, public and private notes, technician attribution and session duration can be submitted directly to Portal, with an optional camera-test image. Basic and full profiling share one profiling credit per newly registered device. Basic-report and restore-evidence retries are duplicate-safe, and a report upload can be retried without repeating the physical restore.
Both editions bring profiling, diagnostics, cosmetic grading and reporting into Retsu™ Portal. The Windows edition includes Windows activation and eligibility checks, drivers, software preparation and OOBE reset. The macOS edition includes Mac-specific diagnostics, Apple security checks and an optional connected-device profiling and restoration workflow.
